چکیده
The wild edible species Rubus ulmifolius is normally known as a source of several functional-natural compounds used in the traditional diet parts world. At present, few data are available literature about biological property its leaves, rich phenolic acids, fatty and other organic with potential antimicrobial activity. Following this hypothesis, we have investigated antibacterial activity different dried leaved extracts against main cariogenic bacterium, Streptococcus mutans. Standard antimicrobial-antibiofilm methods (MIC, MBC, MBIC) were performed to evaluate each extract's profile. In addition, acids (FA) quali-quantitative profile R. leave was assessed by reversed-phase HPLC-DAD/ELSD analysis. results showed that behavior bacterium strictly related extraction method type, even though it not acid amount composition, fact, all similar, qualitative FA patterns, characterized concentration range from (25 36) % saturated compounds. methanolic extract better result MIC 6.25 %. These preliminary encourage further studies for use mouthwashes or toothpaste great anticaries

Pharmacological profile of the aerial parts of Rubus ulmifolius Schott
BACKGROUND As aerial parts of Rubus ulmifolius contains phytochemicals like flavonoids and tannins. And whereas flavonoids and tannins have antioxidant and antipyretic activity, hence, current work is carried out to screen crude methanolic extract of aerial parts of Rubus ulmifolius (Ru.Cr) and crude flavonoids rich extract of Rubus ulmifolius (Ru.F) for possible antioxidant and antipyretic act...
متن کاملAntimicrobial Activity of Leaves of Rubus Ulmifolius Schott against Some Pathogenic Bacteria and Fungi and Evaluation of the Acute Toxicity
The aqueous, methanolic and phenolic extracts of Rubus ulmifolius leaves were studied and tested for their antimicrobial and antifungi activity against some clinical bacteria .Than the acute toxicity was evaluated. The results showed that the phenolic extract was the most active of staphylococcus aureus with a maximum zone of inhibition 7-12mm. All the other bacteria and fungi showed no signifi...
متن کاملAcid Stress Survival Mechanisms of the Cariogenic Bacterium Streptococcus mutans
Streptococcus mutans, the major etiological agent in human dental caries, is capable of forming a biofilm, or dental plaque, on the tooth surface (Loesche, 1986; Tanzer et al., 2001). S. mutans generates large amounts of acid within dental plaque from fermentable dietary carbohydrates. During meals, the ingestion of carbohydrates causes the pH of the dental plaque to fall below 4.0. Acid accumu...
متن کاملZinc Oxide Nanorods-Decorated Graphene Nanoplatelets: A Promising Antimicrobial Agent against the Cariogenic Bacterium Streptococcus mutans
Nanomaterials are revolutionizing the field of medicine to improve the quality of life due to the myriad of applications stemming from their unique properties, including the antimicrobial activity against pathogens. In this study, the antimicrobial and antibiofilm properties of a novel nanomaterial composed by zinc oxide nanorods-decorated graphene nanoplatelets (ZNGs) are investigated. ZNGs we...
متن کاملPhenolic extracts of Rubus ulmifolius Schott flowers: characterization, microencapsulation and incorporation into yogurts as nutraceutical sources.
Rubus ulmifolius Schott (Rosaceae), known as wild blackberry, is a perennial shrub found in wild and cultivated habitats in Europe, Asia and North Africa. Traditionally, it is used for homemade remedies because of its medicinal properties, including antioxidant activity. In the present work, phenolic extracts of R. ulmifolius flower buds obtained by decoction and hydroalcoholic extraction were ...
